The historic neighborhood of Bridlemile is located in Southwest Portland, where it borders the Healy Heights, Hayhurst, and the Southwest Hills communities. The Portland city boundary runs through the community with the northern portion in unincorporated Multnomah County and the southern portion within city limits. Bridlemile is the place to look if one desires the feel of a home in the woods, but the comforts of city living a short drive away.
Residents of Bridlemile are well-known in Portland as some of the most active neighbors in the city. They created the Bridlemile Creek Stewards in order to preserve the natural beauty of the area’s woods, streams, and trails. The Bridlemile Community Outreach Committee is also one of the best Portland has to offer. As a member of the neighborhood, there will be plenty of potlucks, picnics, and community projects to keep you busy.
Not far from the neighborhood, one can enjoy a luxury meal and incredible view of Portland at the Chart House. With easy access to downtown Portland, one has all kinds of restaurants, shopping and art available. Residents can take advantage of all the amenities of city life, attending one of the many shows or sporting events, while also having the option of enjoying a cozy stroll through the West Hills to experience the natural side of Oregon.
Bridlemile has 34 acres of open spaces and park land. Albert Kelly Park is filled with native trees and shrubbery that make walking and hiking the paths a treat. One can also enjoy a soccer field and playground. Hamilton Park is also well equipped to satisfy with paths, tennis courts, a softball field and movie nights in the park.
